Master Planning

AEP sees the creation of a master plan as a basic and essential benefit, which should be included in each major project. Once the urban design, economic, ecological and socio-cultural aspects are assessed, a master plan creates a sustainable and holistic design concept. 'Stuttgart Hospital', 'Ellwangen Hospital' and 'Jena University Hospital' have been the successfull results of infrastructure analyses and the creation of a master plan.

'Stuttgart Hospital', 'Ellwangen Hospital' and 'Jena University Hospital' have been the successfull results of infrastructure analyses and the creation of a master plan.

The master plan of 'Stuttgart Hospital' shows the integration of four hospitals into a new complex on the premises of the present ‘Katharinen- hospital’. The special feature of the urban development lies in the “movement” from Stadtgarten to the upper Panoramastrasse. This will enlarge the city garden and provide a clear view of the existing vines in Killesberg. The central entrance for patients lying down and the emergency room guarantees that patients are admitted quickly.

"Master planning" is a fluid and complex process due to the current economic situation, the demographics of societies and a shift of services into the community” (U.Eggert, 2008).
